Five constraints matter early.
1. Foundation and level
Follow the sauna manufacturer’s base requirements. The assembly needs stable, level support appropriate for its weight and local soil or frost conditions.
2. Water management
Keep roof runoff, irrigation and standing water away from the structure. Freeze-thaw climates make drainage and site grading particularly important.
3. Electrical route
Plan conductor route, disconnects and service capacity with a qualified electrician before final placement of an electric-heated sauna.
4. Delivery and service access
Account for crate or panel delivery, assembly clearances and future heater service access.
5. Weather exposure
Wind-driven rain, snow load, UV exposure and freeze cycles vary by property. Use the manufacturer’s exterior-treatment and maintenance instructions.
